Wildflower is the flower of a plant that normally grows in fields, forests, etc., without deliberate cultivation. In other words, there’s no specific genus or family for wildflowers; they’re any flower that grows on its own in the wild – so the taste, aroma and flavor will vary from season to season. The nectar collected by bees, when they’re pollinating wildflowers, almost always comes from a number of different species. The honey is also called “polyfloral” for that reason, since it comes from a variety of nectar sources.

There’s another important phrase in the definition of wildflower: “without deliberate cultivation.” That means beekeepers and honey producers don’t plant a field full of wildflowers. The flowers simply grow naturally.


Food produced without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth stimulants or any other artificial chemicals is called organic.


Nothing added, nothing removed. Virgin Earth honey bees find their nectar in the unspoiled nature of mountainous northern areas and vast planes of green Punjab.


Our honey is presented to you as it exists in nature and is not made or caused by humankind. The bees naturally collect nectar and pollen to make honey, using a technique that was perfected within the last 40 million years.

The production process applies the absolute minimum in technology, it preserves the traditional ways of harvesting honey and guarantees a sustainable and natural approach.


No processing, heating or pasteurization is done, only filtered and cleaned. Our honey is absolutely raw.

No Pasteurization

Pasteurization is a process in which honey is treated with heat for a certain time period to extend shelf life. Pasteurized honey may look more clear and smooth but pasteurization causes loss of nearly 200 components in honey including antioxidants, antibacterials, invertase enzyme and other beneficial elements. 

Fully Ripened

Our beekeepers are fully trained to recognize fully ripe honey by the wax lid covering the honey comb. When the hives feel nice and heavy, and the honeycomb is completely sealed, this is an indication of fully ripe honey, the beekeeper will then begin collecting the honey.

During the ripening process, a significant amount of water evaporates from the honey, giving it a syrupy consistency. Fresh flower nectar contains around 70% water, fully ripe honey only contains around 18% water.

Traditionally Crafted

At Virgin Earth rich traditional customary methods, prevalent from generation to generation, are used for crafting honey. Virgin Earth honey is not industrially farmed in bulk quantities but have a limited quantity which is traditionally hand crafted and packed with love.

Sidr honey is a monofloral honey. The bees collect the nectar from flowers of the tree before they turn into fruit. With time, this honey thickens, darkening in colour and improving in quality. It has a delicate fragrance and is comparatively less sweet than other types of honey.

  • Fights Free Radical Damage : Phytonutrients are compounds found in plants that help protect the plant from harm. For example, some keep insects away or shield the plant from ultraviolet radiation. The phytonutrients in honey are responsible for its antioxidant properties, as well as its antibacterial and antifungal power. Honey is also an effective treatment for diabetic foot ulcers, which are serious complications that can lead to amputation.

One study reported a 43.3% success rate with honey as a wound treatment. In another study, topical honey healed a whopping 97% of patients’ diabetic ulcers.

Researchers believe that honey’s healing powers come from its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects as well as its ability to nourish surrounding tissue.

What’s more, it can help treat other skin conditions, including psoriasis and herpes lesions.

  • Protecting the Brain : Some evidence suggests that honey may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory powers that can benefit the brain. A study found that honey develops protection against brain damage caused by exposure to lead.

In addition, a review states that raw honey may contain ingredients that help fight inflammation in the hippocampus, a part of the brain involved in memory.

Honey may help Prevent Artery HardeningAnother recent paper about honey’s benefits explores its ability to combat artery hardening, a leading cause of death worldwide. Published in 2019, also in the journal Nutrients, the authors point out that honey contains over 180 substances—including natural sugars as well as a plethora of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. Researchers conclude that the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds in honey, in addition to its ability to counter oxidative stress, are the key factors responsible for its protective benefits.

Facts About Honey And Bees

  • About the Bees : A bee queen lives two to three years. A worker bee lives only a month.
  • Bee Hives : The bee queen is the mother of her approximately 30,000 daughters and 1,000 sons (drones).

Bees collect nectar and pollen, Nectar is aromatic sugar water, rich in minerals, produced by plants to attract insects. Plants need the insects to transport pollen directly to another plant of the same species for fertilization.
Pollen is a life-propagating protein. The transport of pollen by bees is more precise than random pollen transport by wind (as in the case of grass). Without bees, there would be fewer and smaller fruits, or no fruit at all.
Bees collect both nectar and pollen. They need both as nutrients for their young. An area of roughly 2-3 km in diameter is searched for the collection of these two constituents.

  • Honey : A returning collecting bee passes the nectar on to several further bees. Each bee within the chain adds enzymes and other natural substances. They gradually modify the composition of the sugars and confer on honey its specific "antibacterial" and "anti-oxidative" properties. The end-product is honey. It is stored in the combs and sealed with a wax cover. Interestingly, the lifetime production of one single bee is approximately one teaspoon of honey.
  • Types of Honey : The classification is based on type of flowers. Therefore, it can be said that in any given area the number of types of honey is equal to the number of types of flowers in the region.
  • Honey Production : For extraction, the honeycombs are removed and slowly rotated in a centrifuge. The honey is transferred into special jars.
  • The Color of Honey : The honey’s color is related to the blossoms visited by the bees. There are as many colors as there are flowers.
  • The Flavor of Honey : Each honey has its own unique flavor.
  • Honey and Babies : To children below the age of 12 months it may be a challenge for their not fully developed digestive tract to digest the complex spectrum of honey proteins, vitamins and enzymes. It is therefore recommended not to give honey to children below that age especially the raw honey.
  • Storage Life of Honey : Fresh honey tastes best. However, with an airtight cap, stored at a cool and dark place, honey may maintain its qualities for many years. In fact, honey might be the only foodstuff to remain fit for eating for decades even when kept raw, untreated and unrefrigerated.
  • Hard Honey : The formation of honey crystals is a natural process. It most often is observed when honey is stored between 10 and 18°C (50 – 65° Fahrenheit). At higher degrees the crystallization is delayed.
  • Liquefying Honey : It is best to scrape solid honey at the surface with a spoon until enough volume is created to spread it. All heating of honey above 35°C (95° Fahrenheit) carries the risk of destroying proteins, vitamins and enzymes. It is not advisable, therefore, to add honey to a hot beverage for this same reason.
  • The Future of the Bees : Modern agricultural plantings include fewer flowers. In addition, pesticides, herbicides and a mite (varroa) threaten bees. However, bees have existed for at least 40 million years. These actual man-caused imminences will eventually be overcome by the bees, but nobody knows how long this process will take.
